Antonio Davila

Antonio Davila

Tony Davila has a dual appointment as professor of Entrepreneurship and professor of Accounting and Control at IESE Business School. He is the Alcatel Lucent Chair of Technology Management. He has also been Professor at the Harvard Business School during 2013 and 2014, teaching in the MBA core curriculum. Before coming to IESE, he was a faculty member at the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University after receiving his doctorate from the Harvard Business School. He teaches courses in innovation management, entrepreneurship, management accounting and control, and sports management at the master, doctoral, and executive education levels. He also works extensively with companies from startups, some of them started by some of his students, to large multinationals.

Vincent Ogutu

Vincent Ogutu

Vincent Ogutu is a full-time lecturer in Organizational Behavior, Leadership and Entrepreneurship at Strathmore Business School, Nairobi and is the Vice Dean for Executive Talent Development. He has a PhD in Organizational Management from Rutgers Business School, an MSc in Financial Economics from the University of London, and a BA in Economics from the University of Nairobi.

His current research focuses on how to live meaningful lives and connect in a deeply meaningful way with one’s work. Studying this topic among social entrepreneurs has given him new-found clarity in his career path. He now aims to assist organizations, through research and practice, to achieve social impact and to create meaningful work environments for their employees. On a personal level, Vincent hopes to inspire his students and other audiences to lead purposeful lives, and to leverage the power of social innovation to solve some of the world’s greatest problems. While in the US, Vincent embarked on his own social mission, to create powerful messages of hope that could transform prisoners into the some of the most admirable people on the planet. When not engaged in social innovation, Vincent loves to run half-marathons, practice Southern Shaolin KungFu, and play the xaphoon.

Farah Shakir

Farah Shakir

Farah Yasmine Shakir, has lived in the UAE, Oman, Pakistan, Canada and currently resides in Barcelona, Spain where she is completing her PhD in Management from IESE Business School in the department of Managing People in Organizations. She is of Pakistani-Canadian origin and after graduating from Queen’s University in Canada with a Master of Industrial Relations, she established a career last working as the Head of HR Strategy for one of the largest financial institutions in Pakistan. Currently, she researches and teaches in the area of organizational behaviour within international management. Her main aim is considering management practices that reconcile cultural differences.

Arun Jayadev

Arun Jayadev

Arun Jayadev is a co-founder and COO of AM Technology which is commercializing Airlite, an effective approach to mitigate air pollution, reduce the energy foot print and enhance the lifecycle of built environment. He was previously a Venture Partner at Wellington Partner, a venture capital firm investing in the Clean technology sector. He has served as an advisor to the Department of Energy and is a Kauffman Fellow from the Centre for Venture Education in Palo Alto. Prior to Wellington, Arun worked for two technology start-ups and a private equity fund.

Arun earned an MBA with a focus on Entrepreneurial Finance from IESE Business School, Barcelona in 2008. In 2003, he finished a Bachelor in Engineering with a focus on computer science with distinction at the Rashtriya Vidhyalaya College of Engineering, Bangalore.

Carlos Garcia

Carlos Garcia

Carlos García Pont is professor in the Marketing Department. His work places special emphasis on the importance of alliances in understanding competitive strategy, the organizational needs of market-oriented organizations in industrial markets and subsidiary strategy in global corporations.

He has also done work in the areas of strategic management and marketing strategy. Prof. García Pont has had extensive experience with both local and multinational organizations in his consulting activities.

Mariano Torrente

Energetic and curious by nature, highly motivated to do things differently, Mariano thrives in challenging environments that present the opportunity to work not only on a variety of projects, but also with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds. During his time at both the Public (UNICEF) and the Private Sector (Accenture & AT Kearney) and driven by the conviction that people are a business’ greatest asset, he developed his appreciation for the importance and impact that individual values can have on others.

One of Mariano´s passion is Magic and Illusion. During the TED Talk, he will try to explain that during our daily life, amazing things can happen in front of us. In an ever-increasingly dynamic and globalized world, where we are bombarded with tons of information and distractions, he clearly believes that the sense of awe and wonder is something that we can cultivate.

Magda Rosenmöller

At IESE she teaches health sector management in the MBA and executive education programmes. She is also a regular visiting professor in European, Latin American, Asian and African institutions, including CEIBS, Shanghai; SBS, Nairobi; IAE, Buenos Aires; and IEEM, Montevideo.

She gained executive experience spending two years as health economist at the World Bank’s Latin American and Caribbean Region (2000 – 2002). She serves as expert adviser to the European Commission’s Health and Research DGs and the European Parliament, and is/has been consultant with other institutions, such as the World Bank, the World Health Organization and the Brookings Institution. As Rapporteur she drafted the socioeconomic evaluation of IMI, the Innovative Medicine Initiative with the European Commission. She assumed the scientific coordination of a series of European research projects and is member of several international organizations including IHEA and EHMA, the European Health Management Association, on which Board she served. She is author / editor of a series of books and publications.

Charles has over 30 years experience helping companies align business processes, teams, and technology with clearly defined business strategy having worked and lived in the USA, Canada, UK, and Spain.

Charles has also been a Business Angel investor in 23 companies spanning financial services, technology development, ecommerce, and manufacturing. More recently, Charles was Group Director of Innovation and New Ventures for eDreams ODIGEO and now focuses on helping companies understand the future of the travel industry and loyalty.

Alex Aranzábal

Alex Aranzábal

Alex Aranzábal holds a degree in Economics and a doctorate from the University of Deusto (Bilbao). After holding various positions in the Society of Jesus in Guipúzcoa, he became commercial director and marketing of EITB, a public broadcasting group in the Basque Country, in 2009. In September 2013 he joined Avia Oil Energy as director of marketing, until August 2014, when he requested a leave of absence to take over as chief executive Football Club SD Eibar. He was elected President of SD Eibar in 2009. During his tenure, the team ascended to the First Division Spanish League for the second season since founding the Club in 1940.
